The Azoic Period
The Precambrian Period was where the first forms of life had evolved which was approximately 600 million years ago.
Environment- made of many layers of sedimentary rock
- these sedimentary rocks contain fossilized remains of plants and animals - very little oxygen - the ground had a reddish tint - seas were thought to be green for there was a lack of oxygen |
Life Forms- microscopic bacteria [3.4 billion years ago]
- bacteria evolved into different forms seeking out different ways to get energy over time - one type of bacteria is called the cyanobacteria- first multicelled organisms occurs in fossil forms of 600 million years old - Ediacarans resemble nothing of today's modern organisms - Ediacarans had no head, mouth, or digestive system |
Major Events- oceans form
- atmosphere forms - beginning of life and Earth |
